SUB-SESSION 60min

13:45 – 14:45

Coordinated by the SHARE-North Squared project, this hands-on session tackles the challenges of integrating shared mobility into new and existing housing developments. From scarce space and car dependency to outdated parking norms. How can we break through? Discover how innovative parking by-laws and forward-thinking urban planning can enable local governments and planners to structurally embed shared mobility. Using a playful dice-based format, participants will explore how different mobility modes can influence the environmental, financial and spatial impact of future housing projects.

Hi, I’m Rebecca. An urbanite at heart, I’m driven by the idea that cities can be sustainable, liveable and socially fair. At the City of Bremen’s Ministry for Construction, Mobility and Housing Development, I design shared mobility and mobility management policies, implement Bremen’s car-sharing strategies, and shape European projects on sustainable transport. I love exchanging lessons with other cities building governance for shared mobility. I also co-authored Shared Mobility Rocks: A Planner’s Guide to the Shared Mobility Galaxy and serve on the board of the Mobility Cooperative in Switzerland.
Hi, I’m Cornelia. With roots in geography, cultural science and social work, I always put people and their behaviour at the centre of mobility planning and urban development. For me, it’s clear: planning without involving the people is planning against them. My work bridges the technical and the human, making sure mobility systems are not just efficient on paper but meaningful in daily life. Whether it’s shaping projects, sparking dialogue, or challenging assumptions, I’m here to remind us that shared mobility only rocks when people truly feel included.
Hi, I’m Maarten. As Manager Sustainable Development at AM Development, I push the boundaries of how shared mobility can be woven into housing projects and urban life. From sector-wide strategies to hands-on projects, my focus is on making shared mobility a structural part of how we build and live. This year, I introduced StartHub, an inclusive mobility hub concept designed to show what’s possible when innovation meets accessibility. For me, sustainable development isn’t an add-on, it’s the foundation. And shared mobility is one of the keys to unlocking it.
Hi, I’m Kristof. With a background in architecture and years of experience in both the design world and the heritage sector, I’ve always been fascinated by how we shape the spaces we live in. From restoring Flemish monuments to reimagining them as sustainable housing, my focus has shifted to developing social housing that goes beyond bricks and mortar. Today, I work to turn heritage into living environments where tenants can truly live sustainably. Because for me, sustainable living is more than just a sustainable home.
