SUB-SESSION 90min

16:00 – 17:30

90 minutes, 3 perspectives, 1 mission: scaling shared mobility

From small pilots to big transformations, this extended session powered by ShareDiMobiHub takes you on a journey through the future of urban mobility.

Pilots: pioneering sustainable urban mobility

From Vestfold to Rotterdam and Leuven: pilots are the testing grounds for bold mobility solutions. Discover how shared bikes, scooters and cars are changing daily life, how hubs connect with public transport, and how local communities and businesses get involved. These stories prove that sustainable mobility is not a distant goal, it is already happening.

Performer:

Hi, I’m Richard. Senior Advisor at the City of Rotterdam’s Mobility Department, where I focus on making urban mobility smarter, more sustainable, and accessible. My work revolves around shared mobility systems, multimodal hubs, and exploring cutting-edge innovations like self-driving vehicles, drones, and AI. Through collaborations with IURC, POLIS, and Eurocities, I’ve built a strong international network that helps Rotterdam lead in global mobility innovation. With a background in connecting spatial planning, sustainability, and digital infrastructure, I’m dedicated to creating a city that’s not just smart but climate-resilient, inclusive, and ready for the future. Just like a great rock band, I believe the best solutions come from harmonizing diverse ideas and keeping the rhythm of innovation going strong.

Upscaling: from pilots to citywide transformation

How do small-scale trials grow into structural change? In this block, we look at cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht and Copenhagen, where shared mobility hubs are expanding into citywide networks. With insights from Eric van Dijk, we explore how strategic planning, political collaboration and digital integration are shaping smarter, more connected cities.

Performer:

Hi, I’m Eric. Policy advisor at the Province of Utrecht, where I work with municipalities, the national government and local partners to shape smarter transport. With experience across both public and private sectors, I focus on data-driven planning, policy evaluation and collaboration that really moves the system forward. From leading the EU’s ShareDiMobiHub project to launching citizen science tools like Snifferbike and Telraam, I explore how tech, data and people can together make mobility cleaner, fairer and more efficient. On stage or in the field, I’m driven to turn insights into impact, like a strong riff that keeps the crowd going.

Data and digitalisation for seamless mobility

Behind every smooth trip lies smart digital infrastructure. From TOMP-API standards to MaaS platforms, this block shows how data exchange and digital tools drive user-friendly, scalable solutions. With Tjalle Groen, we highlight lessons on interoperability, user experience and policy and why digitalisation is the backbone of shared mobility.

Performer:

Hi, i'm Tjalle. Project Director at Mpact, a Belgian non-profit pushing for smarter, shared mobility. We build, not from scratch, but from what the world already got. With more than ten years of experience across European projects, I help harmonise services, connect systems, and centre the user in every decision. On stage at conferences or in cross-border collaborations, I work to make mobility as seamless and human as a great live set.
